What do you like best about Model N for High Tech?

We used ModelN to track our vendor commissions, and we found it to be a very useful software. The reports contained everything we needed.

To manage large dataset values ModeIN is one stop solution

Allows our clients to simplify workflows and manage revenue cycle, works well and is fairly easy to use as an end user

We have it set up to show the orderable part numbers, their status, whether there are any ordering holds, RoHS status, MOQ, tape and reel quantities etc

Great analytics and optimization software with insights that maximize channel sales, optimize operations, and reduce costs.

What do you dislike about Model N for High Tech?

I thought the product was good, and it contained all of the information we needed.

ModeIN sometimes hang when data volume is complex

Can be difficult to implement, product could be updated more frequently, integration can be difficult with other products, sometimes is too technical

I have not learned all of its features and capabilities.

I have been using ChannelInsight for over a year now and have no complaints.

What problems is Model N for High Tech solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are using ModelN to track vendor commissions. We have several vendors that have tiered percentages for commissions, and ModelN has been able to accurately measure them.

The best presnetable format i’ve encountered so far it is easy to present data rather then having legacy excel sheets for data

Simplifying RCM workflows, managing the revenue cycle, saving clients money, optimizing processes

Model N provides a way for us to see the status of parts, for sales reps to place sample orders, and for us to list who the product marketing managers and tactical marketing managers are.

Dislikes

They make you work on multiple projects at the same time with divided allocation Most of the projects needs you to stretch overnight Micromanagement(It depends on your delivery lead)

Pros

The Opportunity and Registration management module supports linkage to pricing, debiting and capturing POS to manage items progressing thru the process.
The Price quoting module supports robust territory management and price security, ensuring that only authorized personnel can see assigned region / customer pricing. The workflow supports appropriate levels of price approvals.
The contract management module supports a diverse library of contract types, including direct OEM, Distribution, pass-thru-pricing, reference contracts, multi-currency contracts and the price approval workflow is robust.

Cons

Need to simplify data extraction and reporting to the daily users.
Need to improve data visuals to management and to the daily user.
