Benefits

Wrike also provides these add-on features for its Business, Enterprise and Pinnacle plans:

  • Wrike Marketing Insights: This add-on is ideal for digital marketers because they can integrate data from their marketing and ad campaigns into Reich. You get easy access to performance metrics of all your assets as you launch newer campaigns.
  • Wrike Integrate: As the name suggests this is Wrike’s integration and automation platform that enables you to integrate your cloud as well as on-premise tools.
  • Wrike Two-Way Sync (Jira and GitHub): Communication with Jira and GitHub ensures that you sync all important information between the two systems without any interruption. You get multiproject visibility and reporting in Wrike while developers can continue working in GitHub without having to learn another platform.
  • Wrike Lock: This is used to provide an additional layer of encryption over the basic encryption services available by default with all your workspace data and attachments.
  • AI Project Risk Prediction: Uses artificial intelligence (AI) to raise alerts when a project is at the risk of not meeting its deadlines.
What do you like best about Wrike?

I’ll say this first, Wrike felt intimidated. After messing around with it and seeing how other co-workers use Wrike, I slowly picked it up. It makes a good checklist of things I need to do if you add the chrome plug-in as a companion. I see what gets assigned. I LOVE when you reference another wrike, you can see the status of it in the description of another. Very handy! Conveniently, Wrike contains a few forms of automation that lift some repetition from your workload. Without that, it wouldn’t be as helpful as other task management systems available in the market. I like how the eco-system allows mentioning other users within a comment or Wrike task. It helps involve the correct people to get the jobs completed. Another feature that is VERY useful for me is the tags. Tagging helps me know where this Wrike is related to, which makes everything come together.

Wrike allows you to allocate work and keep in touch with the assignees via the built-in chat function.

It has an elaborate automation mechanism that minimizes the necessity to push buttons by each and every user.

It has a desktop application, browser version and a mobile application – so you don’t have to worry about losing connection with your team due to a device malfunction.

Last, but not least, Wrike has very extensive and highly helpful support teams – they answer very quickly and are always very helpful.

I believe I can say this on behalf of all the users in my organization that the user interface of Wrike is easy to get used to and understand. It is regularly updated, and the bugs that are found might be solved quickly because I have never come across any bugs in the entire duration I have used Wrike to manage tasks and projects. Another thing that I love the most about Wrike is its mobile application. It allows us to use it from anywhere and expect the same user interface and productivity that we use on the web browser of our computer system. It also becomes convenient as we can manage all our tasks while traveling.

What do you dislike about Wrike?

As I mentioned before, going into it without help is very discouraging since it’s a complex web API with many moving parts. I think to myself, how do I add custom rules to automate some tasks? Unfortunately, you need to dig for that answer since it’s not straightforward. I would like it if Wrike provided an easier way to implement the chrome plug-in and have a way to make templates via the plug-in. It would make managing my tasks substantially easier if that were possible.

Although Wrike team put a lot of effort into solving the problem, I still think that onboarding can be a little bit difficult for people who have never used project management software.

There is a built-in tutorial, and there are special training videos for newcomers, but still, it takes some time to get used to the interface.

Another issue with Wrike for me is that there are some minor UI problems that, to my mind, could be fixed very easily, but they still have “backburner” status (for several years!).

There aren’t many problems that I can think of, but there is always scope to improve something, and the things I noticed while using Wrike was that the tasks created a long time ago are really hard to find once they are completed or when it’s been a while since those tasks have been accessed. There were plenty of such instances where we had to put in a lot of time trying to find old tasks, especially if you do not recall a keyword that was used in the title of the task.

Another important bug that should be looked into is that when typing in the description box of a task, an email is sent to all the stakeholders even before you finalize the content of the description, which is a hassle. A delay or pause should be added, or if one already exists, it should be increased so that an email is sent to the stakeholders only after the entire description is added to the task.

What problems is Wrike solving and how is that benefiting you?

It’s solving a lot of organizational task management issues. It helps keep everyone on point about what you should be doing and when the task is due. Helps that when I go OOO, it notifies project managers that I won’t be available. Another way it’s helping me is by providing a way to track how much time I spend on each task. By using the timer, I can estimate how much I take and figure out a way to optimize my time and know how to allocate that time to essential tasks that require my attention more. Other things that help me solve are keeping everything in one place and showing me what’s related to which Wrike.

Wrike allows me to see my current workload. It visualizes the progress done on the projects – I can quickly check why work on a project is overdue and immediately send a reminder (within Wrike) to the assignee. All project-related work stays in Wrike and can be accessed and checked immediately.

It has helped our organization in many ways:

Helped our organization managing projects between different users, teams, internal stakeholders, and external stakeholders.

Helped our organization in saving a significant time and effort.

Helped our organization in keeping a track of our tasks and allow us to follow up on work easily.

Pros

“So far Wrike has been fantastic. It’s helping us transition to a more natural work flow and keeping everyone on top of projects.”
“This has been a fantastic addition to our Projects Division toolkits, and has been integral in the success of several projects we have run via Wrike.”
“I really helping to making our project progress as smooth and as effective as possible.”
“It’s packed with functionality, good collab tool with our internal teams. Task management is excellent.”

Cons

“Then they deactivated our account with no warning, and when I asked they said “it’s written on the invoice. I supposedly had access to a CSM, but they never called.”
“I was introduced to Wrike by a client who swore by it (and still does) but I’m sad to say my experience with Wrike ended there. In my experience, it was needlessly confusing and just not intuitive.”
“Customer support is poor, be very cautious about changes to level of service or SLA’s mid-contract with no recourse.”
“Who can say for sure that I didn’t utilize the assistance, in light of the fact that there are access logs, and still keep up with the unapproved charges.”

Pricing and Options

Wrike Pricing

No project management software review would be complete without a detailed overview of the plans and pricing. Wrike has several different package tiers and product offerings, each at varying price points.

There’s even a free version of Wrike that supports up to five users. Here’s a general overview of the plans and pricing:

The free plan comes with task management basics, but it’s not a viable option for business use. For example, you can use the free package for basic board views and spreadsheet views, but not for Gantt charts. While it does support file sharing, basic task management, and some integrations, there aren’t many potential use cases for Wrike’s free offering. Skip over that altogether. If you want a free project management solution, there are better alternatives on the market.

Wrike’s Professional plan supports up to 15 team members in intervals of five. It can be a little annoying if you fall in between these numbers, as you’ll end up paying for extra seats. For example, if you have a team of 11, you’ll need to sign up and pay for 15 users. This pricing structure may add to your overall costs.

The Professional package is essentially Wrike’s entry-level project management solution. It comes with task management, subtask management, Gantt charts, shareable dashboards, and advanced integrations. But if you want to get the most out of Wrike, upgrade to the Business plan.

Starting at $24.80 per user per month, the rate is a bit high compared to alternatives with similar features on the market today. In addition to all of the Professional features, Wrike Business includes:

  • Custom workflows
  • Real-time reports
  • Calendars
  • Request forms
  • Project and task approvals
  • Time tracking
  • User and group permissions
  • Automation engine
  • Graphical analytics
  • Report templates

The package also supports Salesforce integration and allows you to brand your workspace with company logos.

Larger organizations with advanced security needs will benefit from the Enterprise solution. This offers custom IT admin permissions, SSO, two-factor authentication, password policies, network access and compliance policies, BI integrations, advanced access controls, and more.

Overall, Wrike Business will be the best option for most organizations seeking a project management solution. It’s a bit pricey but still feature-rich.
